Je ľahké uveriť myšlienke, že svet sa nedá zmeniť a ak sa aj dá, tak nie v mojom prípade. Vysoko filozofických, ale aj jednoduchých dôvodov je mnoho: pretože svetu úplne nerozumiem, pretože nemám v porovnaní s ľuďmi v mojom okolí žiadne výnimočné schopnosti, pretože som len jeden z x miliárd ľudí… a tak ďalej.It is easy to believe that the world can’t be changed, and even if it can, it’s not me who can do it. There are many highly philosophical, but also some simple reasons why it is so: because I don’t understand the world so much, because I’m nothing special in comparison with people around me, because I’m just one of many billions of other people, etc.
Svet však podľa mňa menia všetci. Či už si to želajú alebo nie. A či sa im to páči alebo nepáči.
Rozhodnutie prebehnúť na druhú stranu ulice za turistom držiacim mapu hore nohami mu zmení večer. Rozhodnutie za ním neísť pravdepodobne taktiež. Ísť demonštrovať je rozhodnutie s dôsledkom, rovnako ako demonštrovať neísť.
Tento rok sa organizačný tím TEDxBratislava rozhodol upriamiť Vašu a našu pozornosť práve na to, že rozhodnutia a skutky formujú budúcnosť.
Či už ide o zasadenie semiačka; stlačenie kohútika a letiaci vystrelený projektil; Váš poučný príbeh, ktorý si práve vypočul chlapec od susedov; neodoslaný povzbudzujúci email vedcovi po neúspešnom experimente, alebo rozhodnutie nezaujímať sa nasledujúce dva roky o problémy, ktorým čelia ľudia na opačnej pologuli.
Akcia prináša reakciu. Skutky majú svoje dôsledky. Nečinnosť má svoje dôsledky. Súčasnosť je výsledkom minulých rozhodnutí. Súčasnosť je výsledkom minulých nečinností.
To všetko sme zhrnuli do troch slov:
Tvoríme budúcnosť.
Dnes.
Platilo to doteraz, bude to platiť stále a bude to tak aj 21.mája na TEDxBratislava v Heineken Tower stage.

However, I believe that we all are changing the world, intentionally or not, and whether we like it or not.
The decision to run to the other side of the street to help a tourist holding the map upside-down can change his evening. So will your decision not to. The decision to take part in a demonstration is a decision with consequences, just like the decision not to.
This year the organizing team of TEDx Bratislava chose to focus your and our attention on the fact that our decisions and deeds form our future.
It can be planting a seed, pulling the trigger and the flying bullet; your instructive story heard by a boy from your neighborhood; an unsent encouraging e-mail to a scientist after his unsuccessful experiment; or the decision not to pay any attention to problems that people on the other side of the world are struggling with.
Every action brings a reaction. Every deed has its consequences. Passivity has its consequences too. The present is the result of our past decisions. The present is the result of our past passivity.
We condensed all this into 5 words.
Creating the future. Today.
It’s always been like this and it will continue to be like this – also on May 21, 2011 when TEDx Bratislava will take place in Heineken Tower Stage.
